The shore line consists of sandy beach which
stretches along the entire sea cost and it is about 4.3 km long. A
pier stands in the middle of beach line and extends 450 meters into
the sea. The beach is widest in its middle section, where it reaches
110 meters and narrows to a few meters in the north end. The beach
is surrounded by sand drifts from the land, which are on average 2
meters high. Sand drifts are a place of rare fauna and for that
reason they are under protection. Sand drifts started to form about
5 thousands years ago under the influence of wind and sea waves.
The entire beach contains fine sand with
fractions between 0.5mm and 2 mm. The sea bed is shallow and very
smooth and usually there are no waves or they are very small unless
there is s storm or very windy weather what does not happen very
often. The temperature during summer stays at moderate between 20ºC
and 30ºC with low humid.
The sky is usually cloudless or with a few
clouds, the rain occurs a few times during hot summer days and
usually does not last longer than 2 - 3days. The water is very clear
and safe to swim, sample of the water are taken on daily basis and
there was never reason to warnings recently. Also the beach is swept
on regular.
The tradition of an elegant summer resort, dating
in reality from the 16th century, has persevered until today. The
reason behind it all is the sheer beauty of the place. People are
attracted by the landscape of the bay, sandy beaches and the
picturesque slope rising towards nearby Orlowo. They are fascinated
by the wooden pier, immersed in the water far from the shore and
bewitched with the green hills rising above seven valleys.
