The Diversity of sand is interesting case. In the
south you can find fine sand about 0.5 mm and in the north coarse
sand about 2 mm. Redlowo Cliff has great influence on forming the
beach, which supplies the beach with sand because of the sea waves
washing away sand from the cliff. During summer days numerous play
grounds for children are operating on the beach. On the south part
of the beach small fishing fleet is operating with a few tiny boats
capable to operate only on the Gdansk Gulf. There are seven brooks
which flow from the town hills to the Gulf, all of them but one are
in underground concrete pipes. Some sections of the beach remain in
intact state despite heavy concentration of hotels, bars and
restaurants. The south beach close to the fishing fleet is a place
for Windsurfing Club and many attractions particularly for the
children like chutes. Also the middle section in the vicinity of
Grand Hotel and North Baths is rich in many chutes and other
attraction for tourists during hot summer days.
